      The University of San Francisco (USF) has a history of more than 160 years, established in 1855 as thefirst institution of higher learning in San Francisco. Its main campus is located on a 55-acre settingbetween the Golden Gate Bridge and Golden Gate Park. In addition, USF offers classes at northernCalifornia branch campuses in San Jose, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, and Pleasanton. The San Francisco BayArea is the financial and business center of the West Coast of the United States, perched on the edge ofthe Pacific Rim. It is also home to Silicon Valley, the global research and development center that hascultivated many of the largest high-tech companies in the world such as Apple, Google and HP.
